As the weather gets colder, I hope all of our members and their Ceskys are in good health and looking forward to the holiday season!!
Whew!! What a busy summer!!
The show committee was very active with three booster shows and our Second National Specialty in August. I would like to thank my fellow committee members Wendy Craig and Linda Beasley and other individuals who contributed to the success of these events.
The Specialty was a great success although the entry was down from 2006, which had been anticipated. We rented an event tent for the weekend and this was a great success, as it allowed all entrants and visitors to socialize in one area.
My congratulations to Lynne Kuczynski Veazie, owner of Windrush Hailee's Comet, who was our specialty winner. Lynne and her friend Liz Ludlow also prepared a record of the event and DVD's are being sold to club members with all proceeds over Lynne's cost going to the club's benefit. Thanks Lynne and Liz!!
Congratulations also to Wendy Craig and her homebred Zlatapraha Fire, which Wendy took to Best Puppy in Show at the August 15th show.
Wendy Craig and Marc Joliat co-owners of Ch Zlatapraha Brubeck are rightfully proud of Brubeck winning Best in Show under judge Richard Paquette on October 5th at the all-breed Pine Ridge Show in Port Hope Ontario. This is a first for the Cesky in Canada! Congratulations!
Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us on our Fun Day but we had a pretty good turnout and managed to socialize in spite of the rain.
Your executive meets on a regular basis and early in the New Year we hope to announce the booster shows and other activities planned for 2009. Thoughts, comments and suggestions are always welcome!
I would like to wish all members and their families and of course their Ceskys all the best for the holiday season and the New Year.
